Musician, producer and engineer, Jay Boogie emerges from the city of Moreno Valley, California, a centric area of the Inland Empire, with the purpose to “take people on a journey... and provide an escape from the everyday struggles.” From a very young age, he was drawn to instruments and dreamt of one day being a musician. He first began composing raps at age 15 and soon put to work an old tape recorder. It wasn’t long until he was dabbling with FL Studio. Artists such as Tupac, DJ Quik, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., Led Zeppelin, Jimmi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan, bounced from the walls of his bedroom on the regular. Today, his sound derives from years of practice dedicated to honing his craft. After having studied audio production and learning to play bass, guitar and piano, Jay Boogie passionately set out to animate his artistry. He says, “To me, music is the most powerful substance and my goal is to create something that can inspire and motivate others [...] much like music has done for me.” He draws from many genres, such as jazz, soul, R&B, hip-hop, funk, psychedelic, indie, dance and electronic to create his own authentic sound. The talented musician says, “My goal every day is to learn something new about music, whether it is a new production technique, style, theory concept, or mixing strategy.”
